Foreign Film Night: Perfect Days

Join us Wednesday, May 6th at 5:30 pm for a screening of Perfect Days, a Japanese slice-of-life drama about a janitor who finds beauty in simple pleasures and everyday moments.

Hirayama spends his days cleaning public toilets in Tokyo's upscale Shibuya district. Despite having a repetitive routine doing something many people would rather not think about, Hirayama finds contentment in the simple things -- classic rock music, reading, gardening. As a glimpse into one man's ordinary life, Perfect Days asks us to notice the beauty in the mundane.

Bean Baby! (Part Two)

Let's grow a baby bean plant! Kids ages 12 and under can get a taste of gardening to celebrate spring.

We'll start our bean adventure on Thursday, May 7th at 5pm, where we'll set a bean up to sprout -- your choice of a Strike Snap Bush Bean, Provider Bush Bean or a Lima Bean -- in a sandwich bag. Two weeks later on May 21st at 5pm, we'll meet again to plant our tiny baby bean plants into biodegradable pots to work on their roots.
