South--Fire and Flowers at the Lava Beds

Join the Northside Garden Club on Tuesday, May 24th at 1pm at the South Suburban Branch Library for a discussion about the impact of fire on the landscape at Lava Beds National Monument and Tule Lake National Wildlife Refuge in nearby northern California.

David Hays, the Natural Resources Program Manager at Lava Beds & Tule Lake, will show how fire is a natural part of the rugged, volcanic landscape, and how the plants that thrive there have adapted to fire in various ways.

Teen Poetry Contest

The downtown Klamath County Library is celebrating National Poetry Month with a teen poetry contest!

From sonnets to Viking epics to minimalist haiku and rap lyrics, there are lots of ways to express yourself through poetry, and we want to see yours! The winning poet will take home a $20 gift card to a local bookstore, and their work will be featured on the library’s website and Facebook page.

Closure - Easter

All branches of the Klamath County Library District will be closed on Sunday, April 17th to allow staff members to celebrate the Easter holiday.

No library materials will be due on a day that the libraries are closed for a holiday.

¡Diviértete con español¡ Fun With Spanish

Let’s learn Spanish! The downtown library’s Spanish-language events with Miss Katie and volunteer Spanish language educator Reina Barton have been so popular, we’re adding more events and welcoming a new volunteer teacher, Paola Westfall! Join us on the second Monday of each month (March 14th) for a full day of stories, songs, activities and crafts and more to develop your conversation skills en español:
