Love Our Library Week

February 13th through 19th is Love Our Library week at the Klamath County Libraries!

Now as always in our history, reading is among our greatest freedoms. We believe that librarians have a profound responsibility to give validity to that freedom to read by making it possible for the readers to choose freely from a variety of offerings.

Teen Poetry Contest

The downtown Klamath County Library is holding a poetry writing contest for teens in December!

From sonnets to Viking epics to minimalist haiku and rap lyrics, there are lots of ways to express yourself through poetry, and we want to see yours! The winning poet will take home a $20 gift card to a local bookstore, and their work will be featured on the library’s website and Facebook page.

Oregon Trail Live-Action Board Game

Join us on Thursday, May 15th at 5 pm for a live-action-roleplaying game in honor of the classic computer game Oregon Trail! (And also, you know, the actual-factual historical Oregon Trail. But mostly the computer game.)

Gather your family (teens and adults ages 12 and up, in teams of 2 to 4) into the wagon, ready your supplies, and set off on your journey! Along the way, you'll encounter fellow travelers, traders, natural disasters, and, yes, bouts of dysentery. Whoever lives to see Oregon wins!
