Join us each month for a discussion of books that, for whatever reason, someone tried to ban from a library in America.
We'll be discussing Brave New World by Aldous Huxley on Friday, Feb. 20th at 3pm.
Pick up your copy at the downtown library's Information & Reference Desk. (You can also check it out as an ebook or audiobook through the Hoopla app.)
The Fiction Book Club reads fiction titles of all genres on the third Thursday of the month at 4pm.
We'll be discussing Orbital by Samantha Harvey on Thursday, Feb. 19th at 4pm. Pick up your copy at the Information & Reference desk! (If you need a copy sent to a branch, just call us at 541-882-8894.)
All Klamath County libraries will be closed on Monday, Feb. 16th in observance of Presidents' Day. No materials will be due on a day that the libraries are closed.
The Klamath Basin Genealogical Society meets at the downtown Klamath County Library on the second Thursday of each month at 6 pm. (The Society also has a sub-group, focused on using DNA data in genealogy research, which meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 1 pm.)
The general public is always welcome to join in at both meetings.
For more help with your genealogy research, see our genealogy page.
Sky Lakes family medicine physician Dr. Stewart Decker is back for another jargon-free discussion on health issues! This month will cover brain health and disorders that affect the brain, plus a town-hall-style “patient Q&A” of general questions. (The Q&A is also a great time to suggest future Doc Talk topics!) Like our Lay Person Legal presenters, Dr. Decker’s ability to comment on your specific condition is limited.
Read books about real issues! The Real Reads Book Group tackles a variety of current social issues – race, gender, immigration, poverty, criminal justice, and more – with nonfiction and memoir titles. We meet on the first Saturday of the month at 3pm at the downtown Klamath County Library.
The group will be discussing The Rage of Replacement: Far Right Politics and Demographic Fear by Michael Feola on Saturday, February 7th at 3pm.
Now twice a month! The Adult Writers Group meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 2pm, and it’s open to anyone who wants to improve their writing skills in a positive environment. No previous writing experience necessary!
For more information, please call 541-882-8894.
