You can't stop the process of getting older any more than you can keep the leaves from falling in the autumn. But staff from Klamath Basin Behavioral Health (KBBH) can give you advice on how to make the most of your aging journey in a weekly seminar series on Thursdays at 10am in November and December at the downtown Klamath County Library!

Join us for:

  • Thursday, Nov. 6th at 10 am: End of Life Stages. When a loved one dies, family members have to make a series of complex health and financial decisions in the midst of grief. Learn how you can prepare yourself and your family members for your final needs.
  • Thursday, Nov. 13th at 10 am: Finding Laughter In Life. Some days are just, well, silly! Gain insight on how to keep a lighthearted attitude while facing life's challenges and ridiculous circumstances.
  • Thursday, Nov. 20th at 10 am: Vaccine Guide for Older Adults. There's more to it than "Get your flu shot every year!" (Did you know there is medical evidence that the shingles vaccine can reduce your risk of developing Alzheimer's disease?) Develop a clear plan for your health!
  • Thursday, Dec. 4th at 10am: Finding Gratitude. Taking time to appreciate the good things in your life can improve the quality of your mental health!
  • Thursday, Dec. 11th at 10 am: Technology & Cybersecurity. It seems that every day there's a new way for folks to scam you over the internet. Learn to protect yourself and your loved ones from identity theft, fraud and more!
  • Thursday, Dec. 18th at 10 am: Spirituality As We Age. Growing older often causes us to reflect on the meaning of it all. Get advice on how you can focus your spiritual practices.

KBBH Behavioral Health Specialists, Patricia "Patty" Card, and Kelli Bowers will show you how you and your family can prepare for challenges and celebrate triumphs as you age. Card has worked at KBBH for more than 35 years. Bowers has worked in the field of human services and social work since 1984 in Utah and Oregon. Both currently specialize in the mental health needs of older adults.
